The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is the national medical society representing more than 8,000 physicians who are specialists in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). As the premier medical society for the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation, AAPM&R is the only organization exclusively serving the needs of practicing PM&R physicians. The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation assists PM&R physicians in acquiring the continuing education, practice knowledge, leadership skills, and research findings needed to provide quality patient care, and to represent the best interests of patients with, or at risk for, temporary or permanent disabilities.
